And so the tale is told! The first of many, you may be sure.
We'll be taking the next two months off to rebuild our buffer and redo a number of old pages for easier readability. We'll also be adding a few supplemental pages, so a glance back through the archive might be worth your while.
See you August 1 for the commencement of Book 2!

Thank you for such a wonderfully drawn and written comic. I don’t comment on this strip very often, but your work is GREAT.

Thank you for your wonderful tale.

I appreciate all of it, including the background work you've been putting up. I look forward to more tales of this world.

Well, it seems things have ended well for our heroes.
I guess now is as good a time as ever to admit that a longstanding theory I had since the first page was the Arik was going to die. I figured on a bittersweet ending, at best. Why? Because somehow I expected that bracelet she wears in the prologue turned out to be made from his, ah, remains as a memento.
Probably a dumb thing to base a theory on, but yeah. Anytime his life was in danger, I was like, "Well, this is it. He's gonna die."
Good to see my theory was absolutely bunk after all. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
